Canon releases new firmware for Mark II cameras
Canon today has released firmware for the EOS-1D Mark II and EOS-1Ds Mark II that is meant to eliminate a camera lock-up problem the company acknowledged earlier this month. Firmware updates to fix lock-ups, image corruption with Canon cameras and Lexar CF
Canon today has announced that they will soon be releasing firmware updates to fix a problem in which the EOS-1D Mark II and EOS-1Ds Mark II can become non-functional after shooting a burst of pictures. When this occurs, any pictures still in the camera's memory buffer are lost. In a separate announcement, Canon and Lexar indicate that a problem impacting 80X CompactFlash cards when used in several Canon digital SLR cameras can lead to photo corruption, and that Lexar is developing a firmware update for the affected cards. Both Canon's and Lexar's firmware updates are to be available by the end of May. UPDATE: We've added information on which capacities and series of 80X Lexar cards are affected.

Camera Raw 3.1 posted on Adobe FTP server
Though the Photoshop download pages on Adobe's web site haven't yet been updated, it appears that the company has already posted the final version of Camera Raw 3.1 for Photoshop CS2 on one of its FTP servers. The main changes since v3.0 of the Camera Raw plug-in, which ships with CS2, aren't specified in the download, though it was expected that RAW file support for the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT/350D and Nikon D2X would be present in 3.1 (and we can confirm that RAW files from each camera can be processed through this new version). Adobe DNG Converter 3.1 is also available for download from the same FTP location.
