Canon offers locking mode dial upgrade for 5D Mark II, 7D
Canon has announced a service upgrade for the EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D that sees the camera's mode dial replaced with a redesigned locking version. The new dial, which is similar in design to the one on the EOS 60D, includes a centre button that, when pressed, allows the dial setting to be changed. Otherwise, the dial is locked in position to prevent accidentally changing the exposure mode while the camera is carried.

Newspaper retracts Kuwait digital SLR ban report
The Kuwait Times has retracted a story it published earlier this month which stated that the use of digital SLR cameras in the Persian Gulf emirate had been banned except for "journalism purposes." The retraction says: "[t]he article wrongly stated that a ban on DSLR cameras was implemented by the Ministries of Information, Social Affairs and Finance. This information is false. In a follow up investigation, it was proved that no such ban has been issued."

Firmware v2.050 for Nikon MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 posted
Just ahead of the public availability of the PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for Nikon, LPA Design has posted a firmware update for the new wireless radio remotes that implements important corrections related to the behaviour of the Speedlight on the PocketWizard in the camera's hot shoe. The company strongly recommends that Nikon shooters who purchase MiniTT1s and FlexTT5s starting this week load the new firmware, v2.050, as soon as possible after uncrating their units to ensure their initial experience is as glitch-free as possible.

PocketWizard MiniTT1, FlexTT5 for Nikon head to dealers
The long-awaited Nikon versions of LPA Design's PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 wireless radio remotes are now enroute from the factory to distributors and onto dealers in some countries, including Canada and various locales in Europe. The first units are expected to come available for sale in the latter half of this week in these countries. U.S. availability will follow by roughly two weeks, which should translate to product on U.S. store shelves around the middle of December. Hasselblad commences shipping H4D Ferrari Limited Edition, announces stainless steel H4D model
Hasselblad has announced that its H4D Ferrari Limited Edition medium format digital camera, comprised of an HC 2.8/80mm lens, glass-topped display case and H4D-40 finished in Ferrari red and featuring the Ferrari logo, is now available for purchase at a price of 21,499 Euros (plus tax). A total of 499 units are to be produced. The company has also unveiled the H4D-40 Stainless Steel, a version of the camera whose body surfaces are not painted, thereby revealing the stainless steel used in various exterior pieces. Only 100 units of this special H4D are to be made, at a manufacturer-quoted price of 13,990 Euros (plus tax), or 14,990 Euros (plus tax) when bundled with an HC 2.8/80mm lens.

Adobe is offering discounts to residents of the U.S., Canada and Mexico when purchasing Photoshop Lightroom 3 or Photoshop CS5 direct from Adobe between now and November 30, 2010. The price of a new license for Lightroom 3 is US$199, down from US$299, for a savings of US$100. Full and upgrade licenses of Photoshop CS5 are reduced by US$100 and US$50, respectively, while Photoshop CS5 Extended is US$200 cheaper for a new license and US$100 cheaper to upgrade.
