| Apple announces iPad tablet, camera connection accessory |

Apple has unveiled the iPad, the company's long-rumoured tablet device. Among its features is the ability to download photos and video from a USB-connected camera or directly from an SD card, with the help of the optional iPad Camera Connection Kit.

The Apple iPad is to commence shipping in late-March 2010, starting at a price of US$499 in the U.S. for a 16GB Wi-Fi-only version.
