Apple has released Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 3.0 for the Mac OS, which adds support for Canon's reduced-resolution sRAW and mRAW formats as well as the PowerShot S90, plus Leica's D-LUX 4 and three models from Panasonic.
The release notes don't state which of Canon's sRAW or mRAW-capable cameras are now supported. The full list of newly-added cameras and formats is as follows:
- Canon PowerShot S90
- Canon sRAW
- Canon mRAW
- Leica D-LUX 4
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3
Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 3.0 is available via the Software Update mechanism of Mac OS X v10.5.8 or 10.6.2 and later, or as standalone updater. Apple's support page for the update mentions only the just-announced Aperture 3.0 and iPhoto '09 as the beneficiaries of the new RAW format support in this release.
