Paul C. Buff has released firmware v22 for the Einstein 640 monolight. The update raises the internal temperature threshold at which the unit will temporarily shut down to cool and makes a cosmetic change to the diagnostics screen. To install, a microSD memory card (2GB or less) and reader is required.
The firmware and instructions for installing it are in a post in the Paul C. Buff forum. To check the firmware you have loaded now, power on the unit: the version number will display briefly at the bottom of the flash's rear LCD.
