| Eye-Fi switches on Easy WiFi network login feature |

Eye-Fi today released both a firmware update for its Eye-Fi X2-series memory/wireless cards and a new version of the Eye-Fi Center configuration software. The update combo switches on the previously announced integration of Devicescape's Easy WiFi service for automatic access to a substantial list of public, private and university/college hotspots, including many that normally require logging in through a web page and therefore had not been a possibility with Eye-Fi.
Instructions for installing v3.1.9 of the software and firmware (4.2001 in the case of the Eye-Fi Pro X2 8GB), checking to see if the account associated with your X2 card has the necessary Hotspot Access option enabled (if not it's US$29.99 a year) and adding networks through Eye-Fi Center's Easy WiFi interface are in an Eye-Fi blog post.
