Amongst the cloud of announcements, press releases, PR stunts, and associated chatter coming out of this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, a few odds n' ends have caught our eye. Here’s a quick list, in no particular order, of items that we've seen so far that we thought might be of interest to photographers in one way or another.

There’s been a raft of new tablet, or slate, devices announced. Some are available now, or will be soon; others were previewed and won’t be available for several months. (This list is not comprehensive):

• Samsung’s WiFi-only version of the Galaxy Tab, a 13 oz., 7-inch screen Android 2.2 tablet.
• Samsung also showed its first “sliding tablet PC”, a 2.2 lb., 10-inch multi-touch tablet that also has a slide-out keyboard and runs Windows 7. (Press release.) 
• Toshiba previewed a yet-to-be-named 10-inch Android tablet. (Press release.)
• Enspert previewed a line of new Android tablets but gave few details. (Press release.) 
• Cydle showed its M7 MultiPad, a 7-inch Android tablet that will come with a detachable stand.
• Motion announced the moisture and impact resistant CL900 ruggedized Windows 7 tablet.
• Dell and T-Mobile unveiled the Streak 7, a 7-inch Android tablet compatible with T-Mobile’s 4G data network.

Samsung announced several new 3D displays and projectors suitable for displaying not only 3D games but also 3D photographs and videos. (Press release.) 

The FreeOneHand is an iPad holder and stand designed to facilitate one-handed use of the iPad.

i.Sound announced the Portable Power Max for iOS and USB devices, a 16,000 mAh battery capable of charging iPads and iPhones (up to 5 USB powered devices simultaneously), and the Power View Pro, a dual charging dock for iPad and/or iPhone.
