At its simplest level, they're taking pictures of a group of racing cyclists but photographers covering the Tour de France always manage to make it interesting as this image gallery in The Frame from The Sacramento Bee demonstrates. The Atlantic also features an extensive gallery with many images showing the danger of the event.
