Fujifilm has announced the X10, an advanced point-and-shoot camera with a 12 million image pixel 2/3-inch format EXR CMOS sensor and a 7.1-28.4mm f/2.0-2.8 (28-112mm 35mm equivalent) manual zoom lens. The 2/3-inch sensor format, once common on high-end point-and-shoots but seldom seen nowadays, measures 6.6 x 8.8mm — a bit larger than most other current premium compact camera sensors.
The X10 includes magnesium-alloy body panels and a metal lens barrel, 1080p 30fps video recording, and two lower resolution 6-megapixel modes that provide higher dynamic range or lower noise in high ISO shots by combining information from adjacent pixels.
