| Canon introduces 12MP S100 compact camera with 24-120mm zoom |

Canon has announced the PowerShot S100, an update of the diminutive S95 compact digital camera that features a 12 million image pixel Canon-developed CMOS sensor, 24-120mm (35mm frame equivalent) zoom with fast f/2.0 maximum aperture, built-in GPS, Digic 5 processor, RAW format recording, 1080p/24fps video capture, 3.0-inch (diagonal) rear LCD and compatibility with Canon's optically-triggered HF-DC2 High-Power Flash accessory.

The PowerShot S100 is to ship in November at an expected street price of US$429.99 in the U.S.
Canon has also announced the PowerShot SX40HS, a compact digital camera with a whopping 24-840mm (35mm frame equivalent) zoom.
The SX40HS is to ship later this month at an expected street price of US$429.99 in the U.S.
