Two U.K.-based web sites, ePHOTOzine and Pocket-lint, have separately published reports on touring the Nikon factory in Wuxi, China, not far from Shanghai, where the new V1 and J1, CX format compact system cameras are being made. 

The reports include photos from inside the factory as well as facts and figures about the factory and the manufacture of these cameras, their lenses, and some Coolpix models also made there.
