| Thursday, December 1, 2011 | by Rob Galbraith |

Later this month, Glidetrack will begin shipping mobislyder, a compact video slider intended for use with point-and-shoots, smart phones such as the iPhone, mirrorless cameras and perhaps small digital SLRs (the company recommends a maximum 2.2lb/1kg load weight).
It features a 14.2in/360mm rail portion, comes with five mounts including one with a 1/4-20 attachment and is to ship December 12 at an introductory price of about US$130 (at current exchange rates and when ordered direct from Glidetrack).

Accessories include a longer 26in/660mm rail (for about US$71 currently), wheels that can take the place of the unit's rubber ball-style feet and an articulated module that, in conjunction with the wheels, turns the mobislyder into a tabletop dolly. The longer rail is slated to ship alongside mobislyder on the 12th of this month, while the wheels and articulated module are planned for release sometime later.
A promo video is below. Another video, showing the Panasonic GH2 mounted to a mobislyder, is here.
