An article at Poynter.org discusses a high dynamic range image that ran on the front page of the Washington Post three days ago. Shot by Post photographer Bill O'Leary, the image was made from five different exposures. 

The Poynter story includes a brief discussion of whether multi-exposure HDR shots are appropriate for documentary photojournalism. The Post captioned the image as a "composite" and Poynter's Kenny Irby contends that multi-image HDR shots don't necessarily create false content. But Sean Elliot, president of the National Press Photographers Association, disagrees, saying that the image, by definition, portrays several different "moments" as one.
