| Nikon D4-compatible version of ShutterSnitch now available |
| Thursday, March 22, 2012 | by Rob Galbraith |

ShutterSnitch 2.2.2, out now, solves a compatibility problem with the FTP mode of the Nikon D4 that would prevent pictures from arriving complete or at all, and adds graphics sized for the high-resolution display of Apple's third-generation iPad.

If you do pair up the D4 with ShutterSnitch, note that v2.2.2 retains one D4-related quirk: if the camera's [Overwrite if same name] option is set to Off, then some photos may appear all-black as they arrive within the app, though ShutterSnitch will automatically refresh the photo to correct this. Setting the [Overwrite if same name] option to On bypasses the problem. With the D4 configured this way, we pounded through three solid days of on-location transmitting, from the camera to a beta copy of ShutterSnitch 2.2.2, without a hitch.
Developer Brian Gerfort is investigating the D4 black-frames quirk and, if a solution is found, will roll the fix into a future ShutterSnitch update.
ShutterSnitch 2.2.2
is a free update for licensed users, and is available through the iTunes App Store on your computer
or the App Store on your iOS device.
