Kodak last week dropped the list price of the 6 megapixel DCS 560 and DCS 660 cameras from US$24,995 to US$15,995.
The savings result in part by dropping the bundling of a Mac G4 desktop computer with each camera. A Kodak press release also cites "ongoing manufacturing efficiencies" and the company's "more aggressive stance" in the marketplace as contributing to the US$9000 price reduction.
One US dealer is currently quoting a price of US$15,000 for the DCS 560 and DCS 660.
