Apple today posted FireWire 2.5, an updated collection of FireWire extensions for OS 9, FireWire-capable Macs. This is the same version of FireWire support that has been shipping with certain Macs for at least a month.
Changes include improved reliability on systems with more than 10 FireWire devices connected, as well as a fix for a problem that could cause FireWire devices to work incorrectly after the Mac is shut down.
Mac OS 9 or later is required, as well as built-in, PCI or CardBus PC Card FireWire hardware.
