Canon in the US today pegged the list price for its upcoming D30 digital SLR kit at US$3500, with an expected street price of about US$3000. The Battery Grip BG-ED3 accessory, which will be considered a mandatory purchase by many photojournalists, is not included in the basic D30 kit, but is not expected to expensive. The D30 should be on sale in the US at the end of October; a recent note on Canon's web site indicated that it would be available in Japan after October 20th.
