Photos from the Nikon D1X have been featured at least two more times in Sports Illustrated, this time in the September 3, 2001 issue. David Bergman's double-truck Leading Off frame from the Little League World Series, as well as a photo of pitcher Danny Almonte from the same event elsewhere in the issue, were shot with Nikon's high-resolution digital SLR. In addition, photographer Victor Baldizon notes that two other photos accompanying the Almonte story - the document on the opening page, and the photo of Almonte's family in the Dominican Republic - were shot by him with the Nikon D1H. The issue began hitting newsstands August 30.
