| Rayovac's new battery charges faster |

Rayovac, the third largest US battery maker, has developed a Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery that will charge in an unprecedented 15 minutes or less, the company claims. The charger is based on pressure within the battery, instead of heat and temperature, to ensure it doesn't overcharge. A press release indicates that the technology used in the new battery has yet to be commercialized.
