Adobe this morning provided a sneak peek at a file format plug-in for Photoshop that processes RAW files from an unspecified range of digital cameras. During the demo, Adobe Evangelist Julieanne Kost demonstrated the various processing controls offered by the software, which appear to be broad, and how the changes could be applied in near-real time on a decent-size preview within the plug-in interface (processing of a Canon EOS D60 .CRW file into Photoshop for Windows, after clicking OK, took only a handful of seconds).

Visible were controls for colour space, colour temperature, tint, brightness, contrast, exposure and more. The demo was part of a demonstration of future technology during Adobe senior VP Bryan Lamkin's morning keynote at PhotoPlus Expo in New York.
How the plug-in would be made available was not announced; as to when it would ship, Lamkin said only that Adobe will "get it out as soon as possible." Also shown was a slide show created with a future version or future add-on to Adobe Acrobat for creating slide shows with both transitions (including a silky smooth fade transition) and background music.
