PCWorld has a short item within this article about an upcoming USB2.0 portable external hard drive called "The Outbacker", which has a built-in fingerprint scanner. Made by Memory Experts International and scheduled to ship "later this year" in 20GB and 40GB versions, the Outbacker restricts access to users whose fingerprints are registered. It's also built to withstand a 30-foot drop. Versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux are planned.
