The much-discussed Service Pack 2 update to Microsoft Windows XP will begin to trickle out to end-users over the coming weeks. The update is concerned mostly with security issues.

CNET has posted a review of the update. The review advises waiting for a month or two to install the update while Microsoft resolves some application and peripheral device conflicts.

PC World is also reporting that IBM has advised its employees to avoid the update for now, citing compatibility problems with existing applications.
