Norman Koren has released Imatest, a suite of Windows programs for testing various aspects of digital image quality and performance, including sharpness, dynamic range, and color accuracy.

Suggested uses for the program include determining the performance of lenses at various apertures and focal lengths and comparing particular cameras and lenses to other samples of the same model.

Imatest is available for Windows 2000+ only. A free trial version can be downloaded from the Imatest web site, and a full license is available for an introductory price of US$59.
