Olympus has announced three new lenses for the E-system digital SLR cameras (the E-1 and E-300). With very fast constant maximum apertures for their equivalent focal lengths, these lenses are clearly aimed at professional and serious photographers. They are:
- The Zuiko Digital 14-35mm f/2.0 (equivalent to a 28-70mm f/2.0 lens on 35mm film format cameras)
- The Zuiko Digital 35-100mm f/2.0 (equivalent to a 70-200mm f/2.0)
- The Zuiko Digital 90-250mm f/2.8 (equivalent to a 180-500mm f/2.8)
The lenses are apparently slated to become available in the fourth quarter of 2005 (the press release states "forth", which we are interpreting as a typo for fourth). No pricing information is given.
