| Elevatedphotos.com debuts aerial photography kit |

A British company called Elevatedphotos.com is now marketing a kit for taking aerial photos without an aircraft.
It's essentially a Canon G6 digital camera that mounts on the end of a collapsible aluminum mast stabilized by a tripod and guy ropes. The mast telescopes to a height of 53 feet, and the camera can be tilted and rotated through 360 degrees. It works tethered to a laptop which is manned at ground level.
The whole kit can be transported in a car, and it can be unpacked and assembled in six minutes, according to the company.
The Elevatedphotos.com web site has many pictures of the apparatus itself as well as a large number of aerial photos taken with it. We were a bit surprised at how many of the aerial shots look like they were taken from a much higher elevation than 53 feet.
