SportsShooter.com has published an article by Reed Hoffmann in which he describes helping the Associated Press with a tethered, remotely-operated, rafter-mounted Nikon D1H at the Big 12 college basketball tournament in Kansas City.
In the AP's setup, the D1H is tethered to a small computer mounted alongside it in the rafters and operated by Nikon Capture Camera Control. The rafter-mounted computer, including the Capture Camera Control software running on it, is in turn operated from a courtside laptop via Timbuktu remote control software running over a Wi-Fi network.
