Nikon is readying a firmware update for the D70 that will improve autofocus performance while also revamping the in-camera menus so they're similar in appearance to those in the D70s.

An option to adjust the page layout when printing to PictBridge-compatible printers from the camera will also be added.

A Nikon press release indicates that the new firmware will be available worldwide in mid-May 2005.
