Location lighting specialist Joe McNally is leading five full-day workshops on lighting in October.
Each workshop will cover the use of one or many strobes, understanding colour-balancing gels and the blending of flash and ambient light together effectively. The day will begin at his Dobbs Ferry, NY studio outside New York City, with a location shoot planned for the afternoon.
Workshop dates are October 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25, 2005 from 9:15 AM to 6:00 PM. The fee is US$275, and each day is limited to 12 participants. For more information or to register, call +1 914-478-7728 or email lynn@joemcnally.com. Additional details about the workshop are in a downloadable PDF.
Examples of Joe McNally's work are on his web site. McNally has also produced a DVD on wireless multiple strobe lighting in conjunction with Nikon USA, and was the subject of the feature Shooting the D1X for National Geographic on this site in December 2003.
Revision History
• McNally has reduced the number of workshops being staged, from six to five, owing to a scheduling conflict; we've revised the story accordingly (September 13, 2005)
