Sportsshooter.com has published an article by freelance photojournalist Thomas E. Witte detailing how he discovered a story about a handicapped athlete, sold the idea to Sports Illustrated, shot it, and ended up selling additional publication rights to numerous magazines in the U.S. and abroad.

The athlete is a young man named Bobby Martin who was born without legs but plays for his high school football team.
