The 2006 Pulitzer prizes were announced today. The photo staff of The Dallas Morning News has won the Breaking News Photography award for its coverage of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

Todd Heisler of The Rocky Mountain News has won the Feature Photography prize for his story on the funerals of U.S. Marines who were killed in Iraq.
