Epson ColorBase 2.0, the printer maker's utility for calibrating the Epson Stylus Photo R2400, Stylus Pro 3800, Stylus Pro 4800, Stylus Pro 7800 and Stylus Pro 9800, is available for download from the Epson Europe website.
We've used earlier versions of ColorBase to calibrate multiple R2400s and 4800s with great success; once calibrated, the unit-to-unit colour consistency of a whack of R2400 printers was dramatically improved, while calibrating a trio of 4800s - including our own - cleared away minor colour casts and enabled best use of
Bill Atkinson's exceptional colour profiles with this printer.
Epson ColorBase 2.0 for
Windows and
Mac is a free download. A supported spectrophotometer is required to perform the calibration. Changes since v1.1 aren't noted, other than the addition of support for the new Stylus Pro 3800.
