Reuters changes procedures, dismisses supervisor after publishing altered Lebanon photographs

A statement from Reuters Editor-in-Chief David Schlesinger, published today on Reuters Blogs, describes the steps the wire service has taken in the aftermath of its distribution of two digitally-altered photographs from the fighting in Lebanon in August 2006. These steps include "tightened procedures" and the dismissal of the supervisor of Reuters' Middle East photo operations.
