Phase One to ship 60.48 million image pixel system later this year
Coming quickly on the heels of Hasselblad's 50MP H3DII-50 announcement, Phase One has today revealed that their upcoming P65+ digital back and P65+ camera will feature a 53.9mm x 40.4mm sensor manufactured by Dalsa that will produce 60.48 million image pixel photos at full resolution. P65+ products are to ship in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Ben Long releases Photoshop Action Pack v3.7
Version 3.7 of Photoshop Action Pack, a set of free (donations accepted) Automator Actions for Mac OS X 10.4 and later that enable the creation of Automator workflows for Photoshop CS3, is now available. The release adds two new Actions, one to change a layer's blending mode, another to copy IPTC metadata into Spotlight comments, and refines several others. Photoshop Action Pack 3.7 is comprised of 90 Automator Actions in all.

Work on this update is ongoing, but we can't commit to an exact publication date just yet. It will cover both the EOS-1D Mark III and its higher-resolution sibling the EOS-1Ds Mark III.

Hasselblad to ship 50MP H3DII-50 in October
Hasselblad has announced that this fall they will ship a version of the H3DII that produces 50.14 million image pixel photos from its new, Kodak-designed 36.8x49.1 mm, 6.0μm pixel pitch CCD sensor. Dubbed the H3DII-50, the medium format digital system features a standard ISO range of 50-400 and a shooting rate of 1.1 fps.

Nikon unveils D700 full-frame digital SLR
Nikon has filled in the gap between its midrange and pro digital SLRs. The D700, announced today and slated to ship in late July 2008, looks like a D300, acts like a D3 and promises to be as big a hit as each of them. Nikon has taken the full-frame 12.05 million image pixel CMOS sensor from the D3, placed it inside a body that is similar to the D300, weaved in capabilities from both and put a price tag of US$2999.95 on the result.
