Photo Mechanic fixes Ingest bug
Monday, June 21, 2004 | by Rob Galbraith

Photo Mechanic for Mac OS X and Windows, released over the weekend, fixes a bug that prevented certain video files from being imported correctly using the program's Ingest Disks function.

The Read Me lists this and other changes:

  • A bug related to the ingesting any of the following video formats: MOV, AVI, and MPG has been fixed. Under certain circumstances the image preferences would overwrite the file contents.
  • Added Import and Export functionality for the following IPTC categories:Headline, Special Instructions, Transmission Reference, and Copyright.
  • Added the ability to control clearing of the IPTC Stationery Pad "Apply" flags.  Now there is an initial column of checkboxes that allow you to clear the apply checkboxes separately from their corresponding fields.
  • (Win) Fixed a problem where some file types (like GIF and BMP) were being unintentionally locked by QuickTime, keeping them from renaming properly.

This is a free update for licensed users of v4.1.3.
