Adobe today has announced Photoshop Elements 3.0 for Mac and Windows.
Inclusion of a Camera Raw plug-in for processing of RAW files from a variety of digital cameras, 16-bit file support, a beefed-up File Browser, a tool that is similar to or the same as Shadow/Highlight in Photoshop CS and the addition of a Healing Brush and Spot Healing Brush headline the list of changes in v3.0 for both Mac and Windows users. The Windows version also adds the ability to organize photos using an interface that looks similar to Adobe's Photoshop Album.
Photoshop Elements 3.0 is expected to ship in early November 2004. It's already available for pre-order at Adobe's online store, at a price of US$90 for the Mac version (OS X 10.2.8 or later) and US$100 for the Windows version (Windows 2000/XP).
Adobe has not yet set the price for upgrading from a previous release; an announcement on that is expected in early October 2004.
