PhotographyBlog: Canon U.K. announces new photo printers

PhotographyBlog has published press releases and spec sheets, issued by Canon U.K., for four new Pixma printers from Canon. The new printers are:

The Pixma iP8500, a 4800 x 2400-dpi inkjet that uses Canon's 8-color ChromaPLUS ink system and can produce its maximum size print, A4 (roughly 8 x 11.5 inches), in 34 seconds. Canon's press release says it will be available in October for "around EUR 475 inc. VAT".

The Pixma iP6000D, a 6-color 4800 x 1200-dpi inkjet with a built-in reader for "every type of memory card from all popular makes of digital camera". It prints up to A4 size. The press release says the printer will be available in October and pricing is listed as "about EUR 287 inc. VAT".

The Pixma iP5000, a 5-color 9600 x 2400-dpi inkjet capable of making 1-picolitre ink drops. Its maximum print size is A4. Canon's press release says it will be available in October for "around EUR 244 inc. VAT".

The Pixma iP4000R, a 5-color 4800 x 1200-dpi inkjet with a built-in WiFi (802.11g) print server, allowing it to print from computers in a WiFi wireless network. Maximum print size is A4. Availability is listed as October for "around EUR 287 inc. VAT".

We were unable to find these press releases on any of Canon's worldwide web sites, but they will likely show up soon with localized pricing and availability information.
