D2X price and release date information pulled from Nikon USA web site
Monday, January 3, 2005 | by Rob Galbraith

Nikon USA has now removed from their web site D2X price and release date information.

The information was posted briefly on Nikon USA's D2X product page earlier today but, says Saurabh Wahi of MWW Group (Nikon USA's public relations firm), the final price and delivery date of the camera has not yet been confirmed and the information was posted in error.

Given that the information may not be correct, we've decided to pull our own story until such time as Nikon USA officially sets the cost and ship date for their new flagship digital SLR.

For those eager for a sense of D2X pricing, Nikon Canada began informing its network of dealers in December 2004 that the manufacturer's suggested list price (MSRP) was anticipated to be CDN$6250. This price was meant to be a rough guideline to Nikon retailers in this country; the word anticipated suggests that it could change slightly prior to the camera's actual release.
