Digital Photo Professional, other Canon software updates now available
Tuesday, May 13, 2008 | by Rob Galbraith
Software updates for almost all of its digital SLR software has been posted by Canon. Among the programs updated are Digital Photo Professional (DPP), EOS Utility and Picture Style Editor.

Headlining the list of changes is the addition of 16 new lenses eligible for the lens aberration correction function in DPP 3.4.1, while Canon shooters on the Mac will welcome the fact that both it and EOS Utility 2.4 are now promised to be compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.x (which means, among other things, that tethering capability is restored for some though not all digital SLRs).

DPP 3.4.1, EOS Utility 2.4, Picture Style Editor 1.3 and other Canon digital SLR software updates are available from several of the digital SLR support pages on the Canon USA website, including the page for the EOS-1Ds Mark III.

Update, May 14, 2008: Canon USA has removed the DPP 3.4.1 and EOS Utility 2.4 updates for Windows while a change is made to the installer packages. Chuck Westfall, Technical Advisor at Canon USA, says that the software itself isn't being changed, and that the updaters will reappear on the Canon USA website in the next day or two.
