Canon Digital Photo Professional v3.7.3 fixes bugs, adds EOS-1D Mark IV support
Thursday, December 17, 2009 | by Rob Galbraith
Earlier this month, Canon released Digital Photo Professional (DPP) 3.7.3 for Mac, fixing bugs, improving compatibility with OS X 10.6.x and adding support for RAW files captured with the upcoming EOS-1D Mark IV.

DPP 3.7.3 for Mac is available from several of the digital SLR support pages on the Canon USA website, including the page for the EOS 7D. Follow the link, click the Drivers & Downloads tab and then choose your operating system to access the updater.

You must have an earlier version of one of the following Canon applications installed, or mount a Canon EOS Solution Disk containing one of these application installers, for the updater to run:
  • Digital Photo Professional
  • EOS Viewer Utility
  • File Viewer  Utility
  • RAW Image Task
As of this writing, the latest DPP updater available for Windows is v3.7.2, released in October 2009. Also note that several of the Canon USA digital SLR support pages, including the EOS 5D Mark II, show links to December 15, 2009 postings of Picture Style Editor 1.6.1 and EOS Utility 2.7.2/2.7.3 updaters for Mac and Windows. Clicking on one of the links, however, produces a "requested file not found" error.

Update, December 17, 2009 (evening): The Picture Style Editor 1.6.1 and EOS Utility 2.7.2/2.7.3 links have now been fixed on the Canon USA site.
