The version 3.6.1 release of software for the Canon EOS D30 (and other Canon digital models) posted late last week has been pulled temporarily from Canon USA's web site.
This includes v3.6.1 of both the serial and USB update package for Windows, and v3.6.1 of the Canon Digital Camera plug-in for Mac. Canon's Chuck Westfall indicates that the software should be back up "soon," once certain details related to its release are finalized.
Users who downloaded and installed the software over the weekend report speed increases in the converting of D30 RAW .CRW files, attributable in whole or in part to a new preference that allows so-called false colour filtering to be disabled. A new component of the Windows release, RAW Image Converter, enabled D30 users to process D30 RAW files into finished files from within Windows Explorer.
I'll post a story when the software reappears on the Web.
