Gehrz, Anderson win Best of Photojournalism honors
Friday, April 15, 2005 | by Eamon Hickey
Last month, Jim Gehrz of the Minneapolis Star Tribune was named Newspaper Photographer of the Year and Chris Anderson, shooting for U.S. News and World Report, won the Magazine Photographer of the Year honors in the 2005 Best of Photojournalism (BOP) awards.

The BOP awards are presented by the U.S. National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), and a complete list of winners is published on its website. The NPPA has also published a story on the awards with background information and quotes from several winners.

The website also carries online portfolios from Gehrz and Anderson, as well as from winners and runners-up in about 30 other categories, which ultimately adds up to a collection of hundreds of great photojournalism images (albeit reproduced a bit small). Start at the list of winners page to navigate to all of the available portfolios.
