PictureCode today has posted Noise Ninja 2.1.1 beta 1 of the standalone version of the company's powerful noise reduction software. In addition to minor bug fixes, version 2.1.1 is being released for several different platform types (and is designed to run natively on each for optimum performance):
- Intel-based Macs
- PowerPC-based Macs
- Machines running Windows
- Machines running Linux (AMD/Intel only)
Jim Christian of PictureCode says that the code in 2.1.1 beta 1 is nearly final, and that unless some significant gotchas are found the official release of 2.1.1 will follow by the end of the month. Existing v2.x license keys will work with 2.1.1 beta 1, and the company has posted a trial license key for the beta as well. A brief change log further describes the changes in 2.1.1.
The Photoshop plug-in version of Noise Ninja has not been updated, and there are no immediate plans to do so, says Christian, since Photoshop doesn't yet run natively on Intel Macs and is not available for Linux.
