onOne Software releases DSLR Camera Remote Server 1.2
Friday, October 9, 2009 | by Rob Galbraith
onOne Software has posted DSLR Camera Remote Server 1.2 for Mac and Windows. The new release of the computer side of the iPhone/iPod Touch remote camera control system adds support for the Nikon D300s, fixes various bugs and provides more informative dialogs when certain errors occur. The software has also been qualified for use in Mac OS X 10.6.x and Windows 7.

At Your Service: Version 1.2 of onOne Software's DSLR Camera Remote Server

DSLR Camera Remote Server 1.2 is a free update, available for download from the onOne website.

The company has also completed DSLR Camera Remote 1.2 for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Both the Lite and Pro editions of the app have been submitted to Apple's App Store, and will come available once through Apple's approval process. Changes in DSLR Camera Remote 1.2 are limited to minor fixes, and in fact v1.2 of the iPhone/iPod Touch app isn't required to work with and take advantage of the D300s support and other tweaks in DSLR Camera Remote Server 1.2.

In other words, you can use DSLR Camera Remote 1.1 (the existing version for the iPhone/iPod Touch) to connect to DSLR Camera Remote Server 1.2 and gain the full benefit of the changes in the new server application.

Support for the Canon EOS 7D is not included in this round of updates. Dan Harlacher, Senior Product Manager at onOne, says that Canon's newest digital SLR will be supported in time, but a release date for that has not been set.
