Earlier this week, Digital Photography Review published a story highlighting the fact that the camera/cine lens section of the Carl Zeiss web site was touting an upcoming product announcement for "Millions of SLR Photographers." About that time, the Zeiss web site changed to reveal a product name for the upcoming announcement: "ZF."
Simultaneous with the Zeiss site update, enterprising web detectives unearthed not-yet-published graphics on the Zeiss server that strongly suggest the company is developing or adapting lenses for Nikon's F-mount. Now, a message we received from a Zeiss representative today says that the ZF "teaser campaign" running on the Zeiss web site will continue through until the date when all will be revealed: January 18, 2006. So, it appears we'll have to wait several more weeks to learn the full details of Zeiss' plans, including whether lenses are also planned for Canon EOS cameras.
