Nikon's Australian distributor posts information on Nikon D1H, D1X
Thursday, February 1, 2001 | by
Maxwell, Nikon's Australian distributor, earlier this week posted several pages of information on possible new digital SLR cameras from Nikon. On Friday the pages may have be pulled from the web site, or the server was taken offline. Steve's DigiCams, a web site that does not appear to be working under a Nikon non-disclosure agreement, has now posted much of the info from the still-offline Maxwell site.

Reportedly called the Nikon D1H and Nikon D1X, the information suggests that one of the two cameras could be a much-improved replacement for the current D1.

Here are links to the pages on the Maxwell site, though it's now likely that the pages have been removed, or the company's web server has been temporarily switched off:

Note that Nikon has not yet released any information on new digital SLR cameras.
