Wednesday, September 14, 2011 | by Rob Galbraith
SanDisk has unveiled a revised line of Extreme Pro SDHC/SDXC memory cards rated to deliver 90MB/s write and 95MB/s read speeds (the previous Extreme Pro SDHC carried a 45MB/s rating). The revamped Extreme Pro series will come in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB SDHC plus a new 64GB SDXC capacity.

When purchased direct from SanDisk's U.S. online store, the prices are as follows:
  • Extreme Pro 95MB/s SDHC 8GB: US$100.99
  • Extreme Pro 95MB/s SDHC 16GB: US$159.99
  • Extreme Pro 95MB/s SDHC 32GB: US$299.99
  • Extreme Pro 95MB/s SDXC 64GB: US$499.99
Selling prices are likely to be the same or a bit less at other U.S. retailers. A SanDisk PR representative indicates that all four capacities can be purchased now for prompt shipment from the company's U.S. online store (though they are showing as "Not in Stock" as of this writing), while other retailers are expected to receive their first shipments in October.

SanDisk has also announced the ImageMate All-in-One USB 3.0 Reader, a multi-format card reader that supports CompactFlash Type I, SD/SDHC/SDXC plus several other card types. When purchased direct from SanDisk's U.S. online store, the new reader is US$49.99. It's likely to sell for the same or a bit less at other U.S. retailers. The new USB 3.0 version of the ImageMate All-in-One replaces the previous USB 2.0 model, which has been discontinued.
