NYT: Nikon, Adobe "on the phone" over NEF decoding
Friday, May 6, 2005 | by Eamon Hickey

The New York Times is reporting that Nikon and Adobe are "on the phone with each other to discuss a way out of" the as-shot white balance incompatibility between Adobe Camera Raw and NEF image files from the D2X, D2Hs, and D50. This is reported in an article by David Pogue in yesterday's edition of the paper's "Circuits" online technology newsletter.

The article recaps the recent flare-up over methods of storing RAW file data and includes several new quotes from Nikon and Adobe representatives, although the Nikon source is unnamed. Pogue's comment that he has heard that the two companies are now discussing the issue comes at the end of the article.
