To Delete or Not, That is the Question
Wednesday, January 10, 2007 | by Mike Sturk
In To Delete or Not, That is the Question, photographer Carl Weese writes why he believes it's dangerous to be delete-key happy in the field. He makes the point that in the film negative world there were contact sheets and photographers didn't edit or save only their best work by cutting up negatives. While slide film changed this practice some, the arrival of digital cameras changed it even more to one of immediate editing and a greater chance of making a permament editing mistake.

Update, January 12, 2007: Two more folks have chimed in with their take on deleting in the field, including a photojournalist.
