Eye-Fi card rates mention in upcoming detective novel The Panic Zone
Monday, June 14, 2010 | by Rob Galbraith
If you like to mix detective fiction with your photo technology, The Panic Zone may be for you.

The 406-page novel by Calgary, Canada-based author (and former colleague from our newspaper days) Rick Mofina, includes a mention of an Eye-Fi card on page 16.

The innovative wireless/SD memory card - and the fictional World Press Alliance photographer using it to surreptitiously shoot and transmit photos - aren't around long. Shortly after the Eye-Fi card's entrance into the story a bomb explodes, taking out the photographer and, presumably, the card.

Did it finish transmitting vital pictures before the explosion? You'll have to read the novel to find out.

The Panic Zone
is expected to reach bookshelves in about two weeks.
