For Kicks: The Daily Mail article describing photographer Dave Shopland's picture and the role it played in reversing an Olympic judging error
A photo by Daily Mail photographer Dave Shopland, depicting a crucial moment in Olympic taekwondo that was missed by judges scoring the quarter-final bout, was the impetus for reversing a judging error that had cost a British athlete the win.

Using a Nikon D3 and AF-S Nikkor 400mm f/2.8G ED VR, Shopland made the photo of Sarah Stevenson landing a kick to the face of opponent Cheng Zhong in the dying seconds of the contest.

When Stevenson failed to receive the requisite two points for the move, Shopland's photo was shown to officials. This set into motion a chain of events that led to the result of the bout being reversed and Stevenson being declared the victor.

More information and Shopland's photo are in an article on the Daily Mail website.
